Lenovo hires from within to lead Asia Pacific business
Tech giant Lenovo has appointed Amar Babu to lead the company's business in the overall Asia Pacific region, a move which mirrors a rising trend of companies looking to hire internally for leadership positions.
"Amar Babu is currently Vice President and Services Operations Leader, Lenovo Intelligent Devices Group, a post he took up in 2018. He was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Lenovo Asia Pacific for three years, and prior to that was Managing Director, Lenovo India and South Asia starting from 2007," the company said in a statement.
He succeeds Ken Wong, who has been elevated as the President, Lenovo Solutions and Services Group to capitalise on the Group''s service-led transformation growth opportunities.
It adds another feather in the hat of Amar Babu, who has a portfolio of leading technological positions at HCL, Citibank and Intel before joining Lenovo in 2007. Bringing a plethora of experience on the table, his contributions will be vital for the company’s growth and expansion.
